The City of Saint Paul Department of Safety and Inspections is hiring an individual to perform advanced professional and supervisory work assisting the Building Official with directing and coordinating activities to improve citywide construction services with departments and agencies.

Responsibilities
Here's what you can expect to do: Assist with strategic initiatives, inspection functions, engineering assessments, and plan reviews for construction requests within the City. Improve efficiency and consistency and increase levels of customer service provided. Perform site inspections and help to ensure cost effective code services. Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Building Construction, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field. Three years of progressively responsible, professional experience coordinating, planning, and implementing programs and projects related to construction code enforcement, building design/construction, inspection functions and related supervisory experience.
OR
An Associate Degree in Building Construction, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or related field. Five years of progressively responsible, professional experience coordinating, planning, and implementing programs and projects related to construction code enforcement, building design/construction, inspection functions and related supervisory experience.
A combination of education and experience to equal 7 years or more can be used to qualify for the position.
Must obtain and maintain state certification as a certified Building Official within one year of employment.
Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
